A meeting of the world’s medical and scientific elite in the field of brain development and neuroregeneration is to be held in the period 5-7 June 2025 at Albena Resort. The organizer of the large-scale scientific forum Black Sea Neurogenesis is Medical University – Varna, and this year it is going to host its 4th edition. The scientific forum is supported by the European Union under the TRANSTEM project No. 856871 of the European Commission.

Prominent experts from Japan, the USA, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Great Britain, Bulgaria and other countries are taking part in the event. The scientific organizer of the forum is Prof. Dr. Anton Tonchev – neurobiologist and Director of the Research Institute at MU-Varna.

Neural stem cell transformation and neuronal migration for brain regeneration, how brain folds are formed and what they mean, the role of neural stem cell metabolism in neocortex expansion in the development and human evolution are just a few of the topics that will be the focus of the international event.

The event is expected to enhance the translational impact of fundamental discoveries on neural stem cells and their progeny, build a bridge between the understanding of developmental neurogenesis and adult neurogenesis, and foster new partnerships between participating researchers and MU-Varna.
