Biography

Martin N. Ivanov graduated in 2018 with a master’s degree in Medicine at the Medical University of Varna, Bulgaria.

Currently, Martin Ivanov is a PhD student at the Medical University of Varna, Bulgaria, studying the process of neurogenesis in the subventricular zone of the lateral ventricle in mice, monkeys and humans. He is also an assistant professor at the Department of Anatomy and Cell biology at the same university. He has been a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences in Göttingen, Germany and at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany where he has been studying the gene regulation of neurogenesis in primates.

His research is focused on unravelling the mechanisms of neurogenesis and understanding the gene regulation of different neurogenic regions.
